History

A number of historical milestones shaped Mechanical Technologies Inc. into the mechanical contractor it is today. Certainly, these events set a firm foundation for providing building energy services, piping, sheet metal fabrication, plumbing, and boiler repair. In Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, MTI offers innovative, cost-saving solutions and outstanding service to clients. While we recognize the achievements of the past, we also look forward to developing strong relationships and smart solutions for clients in the future.


Historical Milestones


1989

Company Created

Rick Bushey forms HVAC Systems Service, the forerunner of Mechanical Technologies Inc., launching the company with 5 employees.

1992

New Office

HVAC Systems Service builds its first office and fabrication facility in Howard, Wisconsin, near Green Bay.

1993

Company Expansion

HVAC Systems Service expands its facility to accommodate a sheet metal division and grows to 15 employees.

1996

New Division

HVAC Systems Service expands its control division, creating the Building Automation System Division. The company operates three division: Building Automation System, Control, and Sheet Metal.

1998

New Division

HVAC Systems Service creates a piping division.

2000

Company Rename

Mechanical Technologies Inc. is the new name chosen for the company to represent its diverse capabilities. MTI is a single source contractor for building automation systems, sheet metal, boiler repair, piping, and plumbing.

2001

Relocated

Mechanical Technologies Inc., now with over 30 employees, outgrows its original office and fabrication facility and relocates to an 18,000 sq. ft. space at 701 Morley Road, Green Bay.

2003

New Division

Mechanical Technologies Inc. creates a plumbing division.

2007

Expanded

To serve clients in Milwaukee County, Madison, Racine, Kenosha, and throughout southern Wisconsin, Mechanical Technologies Inc. opens a Southern Division for Building Automation Services (BAS)

2017

New Division

Mechanical Technologies Inc. opens its boiler division.

2018

Now Serving Upper Michigan to Expanded Service Area

Mechanical Technologies Inc. obtains a Michigan Mechanical Contracting license to serve clients in Upper Michigan.
